The Essential Information You Must Know About Product Inspection Services in China

Further to my previous article introduced the key concepts behind the quality control process, today I'll like to talk in a little more detail about pre-production testing.

• Early product testing is a vital component of your ability to deliver high-quality products on time to your client base.
• If you rely solely on final inspections rather than mixing them with early product testing, you will find this can often lead to high levels of time-consuming (and often costly) rework.
• By using an early product inspection (pre-Production Inspection) you can determine what issues or problems there are in the manufacturing process and correct them before production is completed, saving time and money.

Product inspection is generally carried out before the product ships to the purchaser. Problems can be corrected and pre-emotively prevented before they become bigger issues.

The 3 basic types of product inspect as-follows:

• Pre-production
• During Production (DUPRO)
• Pre-shipment
• Pre-production:

Product Inspection Services

Pre-production or early production takes place when the first 0-20% of the total quantity has been completed. It allows for an immediate judgment of real capacity and preparation levels and identifies problems while there is still ample time to adjust.

Feedback from these kinds of inspections includes detailed information on the finished goods, as well as a realistic timeline. The raw materials used in production are also thoroughly checked to ensure factory is using only the materials they promised to use, as well as components and packaging materials.

• During production:

DUPRO inspections are recommended when you are making a first time order or working with a new factory. They take place when production has reached 20-60% of final shipment, giving you a detailed look at the manufacturing process, material usage, and workflow. It is essential for shipments of a sizeable quantity where continuous production can often lead to major swings in the quality level.

DUPRO is the most effective way of identifying and preventing possible bottlenecks and delays.

• Pre-shipment:

The final inspections occur when 80-100% has been completed. Rigorous onsite testing to industry AQL standards is performed by European, American, and local expert QC teams. Within 12 hours of inspection, an ACCEPTED, HOLD, or REJECTED rating is received, including any information about failures.

A specialist team is always used for an early inspection - they go to the factory on your behalf and inspect the finished item. They can bring you a detailed understanding of the manufacturing timelines and whether this complies with your requirements; what the overall production capacity of the factory is, and importantly what quality issues need adjusting to ensure the utmost quality of the final run.

It's also important during pre-production inspections to ensure that the materials specified for the construction of a product are the ones being used in production. It is not unknown for a Chinese supplier to try and cut costs by changing the materials for cheaper substitutes.
